As acoustical engineers, we work with a wide variety of clients and projects, ranging from design of new buildings and facilities to mitigation in existing facilities. We are committed to providing engineering solutions and services that are both functional and cost-effective. The services we provide are outlined below.

Planning and Design Studies are undertaken to determine a project's acoustical performance requirements.

Site Evaluations consist of site-specific measurements and prediction of  noise or vibration impact. If necessary, appropriate noise and vibration mitigation methods are developed for the client.

Acoustical Performance for theatres, auditoriums, worship spaces, multi-use facilities and studios that have specific acoustic requirements. Sound system design is integrated with the acoustics of a space during project development.

Mechanical and Noise Vibration Control Design of HVAC noise control methods to ensure that mechanical equipment noise and vibration levels are within building design criteria.

Building Certification and Compliance Measurement of noise and vibration levels to verify compliance with building design criteria, which include: Noise Criteria (NC) and Room Criteria (RC) measurements for building mechanical equipment, and Field Sound Transmission Class (FSTC) and Field Impact Insulation Class (FIIC) testing to determine compliance with architectural design requirements.

Seismic Analysis Design and specification of vibration control methods for seismically sensitive equipment (medical imaging equipment and semi-conductor manufacturing, for example). Seismic measurement from blasting operations and construction operations.

Environmental and Community Noise Assessments are often required as part of the approval process for a new project, and for many projects, compliance with local, state or federal noise ordinances is a pivotal issue. EDI prepares noise impact assessments for private and public projects. We give expert witness testimony and presentations for our clients to city councils, county commissions and other environmental agencies.

Airports, blasting operations, HVAC systems, power plant and cogeneration facilities, indoor and outdoor entertainment venues, recreation facilities, dog kennels, sports and racing venues, shooting ranges, gas compressor stations, gravel pits and mines, rock quarries, hospitals, commercial buildings/offices, residential developments, lofts and apartments, manufacturing facilities, worship facilities, retail centers, and seismic isolation of sensitive manufacturing, scientific and medical imaging equipment.
